Curved Window - The Sims 4 Style

The most challenging part of being a custom content creator for a game like The Sims is overcoming the lack of documentation for new features aimed to educated modders on how new mechanics work. This was the case for the new curved walls and, more specifically, the new curved windows. Ever since the curved walls and windows were announced ...or shall i say, leaked, i got to work on discovering how the tech might work before EA even released the update. I first created all the meshes i thought i might've needed (8 meshes in total for the same window). You can check out the process in the pictures. Once that was done, i dug into the game files to discover if there was a template for curved windows that slipped through the cracks with the last update from weeks ago. And there it was! All the data to make a curved window work was there and, since it was a template file, i couldn't easily clone it. I manually inserted all the new information into a regular window from the game and patiently waited for the update to come out. Once it did, i was excited to test my window, and it worked! Since the free update came with walls but not curved windows for them, I was able to post a curved window before even EA could, which doesn't mean anything, but i was pretty proud of myself.

Combined with the known thickness of walls in-game and some calculations based off of The Sims influencers with early-access footage, i was able to have enough knowledge to recreate what would be the official curved walls in-game after the update.

The meshes for a curved window in game are 8, a regular window, a regular window for diagonal walls, and 6 meshes for the curves which consist of 2 versions, a concave and convex mesh, for each of the 3 angles of curve.
