Fiat Puntona EV - Concept

My take on an evolved, next generation of Fiat Punto: the "Fiat Puntona EV". Numerous elements of the car body and inner cabin are nostalgic reinterpretations of the older generation models, the Fiat Punto MK1, MK2, Fiat Grande Punto, Punto EVO and Punto MY2012. The front bumper with the inner bumper design takes from the MY2012 and EVO models, with a modern twist and molded LED daytime running lights, with turn signals cutting them in half. The headlight is a modern reimagination of the classic Grande Punto teardrop headlights, merged together and connected through a daytime running light bar that connects the two sides. Being a family car with a family-friendly budget in mind, the headlights are replaceable halogens, with higher trims with LED Projectors available as an optional. The charger port is located at the nose, underneath the FIAT Logo. Despite its predecessors being hatchbacks, the Puntona is an all-electric SUV, allowing for a bigger battery and a competitive mileage.

The transmission is controlled via the "eGears" gear stick. This device is a highly sophisticated EV transmission experience with simulated clutch pedal, able to realistically simulate a 5 or 6 Speed Manual Transmission, Semi-Automatic Manual as well as Traditional Automatics. The device is purely acting as a drive-by-wire input and it is not mechanically connected to the engine. While programmed to realistically impair gear changing abilities unless the digital clutch is depressed, it is not programmed to emulate:
- Gear Change Stalls: high gears at low speeds will lead to simulated vibrations on stick and steering wheel (Option to turn off) and a power limitation to emulate high gear at low speed slack;
- Move Off Stalls: at a standstill, the digital clutch will never emulate a failed start by means of raising the foot too quickly, with the option to avoid or completely turn off excessive jumpiness with rapid cluch release.

In automatic mode, the eGear Stick allows access to One-Pedal mode via the gear "SeleSwitch" which will also maximize regen brake by default, represented by an icon with an S sorrounded by revolving arrows. When SeleSwitch is selected, with the car going from running to a stand still, the car will automatically switch to "P" (Park). At a standstill, when depressing the throttle pedal, the car will automatically switch to "D" (Drive) and move off.

Size comparison between the "Puntona" and the previous generation model.
The Fiat Grande Punto, which after great success went on to become the Punto EVO in 2009, and lastly the Punto MY2012 in 2012, was the perfect B Segment Supermini family car.

the eGear system simulates the transmission of previous generation manual or automatic Puntos, for customers still attached to their Family Hatchback who don't see themselves switching to a modern automatic EV. Comes with 4 transmission styles.
